The course of your dual study program in business informatics
The dual bachelor’s degree program in business informatics prepares you to cope with the rapid digital transformation and qualifies you to help shape future systems in companies.
Your studies are completed after only 7 semesters plus a bachelor’s thesis (44 months). The dual study program combines these components by alternating between practical and theoretical phases throughout the entire study period. This combination is additionally supported by the preparation of practical transfer reports.
In the first semesters you are allowed to deal with the theoretical basics such as technical computer science, programming and the introduction to business informatics.
Individual elective courses give you the opportunity to focus on specific areas and acquire the most important skills.
The dual study program provides you with optimal opportunities to actively apply your theoretical knowledge in company practice and to take on responsible tasks.
During your studies, you can expect exciting and extensive project work, which is combined with a practical transfer report and provides you with optimal support in linking theory and practice. The connection to the SAP Competence Center (UCC) guarantees teaching and research in the latest software environment.
In addition to your professors, experienced practitioners from the business world will impart knowledge to you in a structured manner, offering you an intensive and very well supervised study program. Small groups allow an optimal supervision ratio between the lecturer and you, so that you are sure to succeed!
After your studies you will be able to analyze, model and implement technical requirements, especially for business application systems, and to place them in a business context.

Instead of the dual business informatics degree programme, you can also complete a classic degree programme. With your classical studies, you are already finished after 7 semesters plus Bachelor’s thesis (44 months).
Choose individual compulsory elective subjects to set specific focal points and acquire the skills that are most important to you. After your studies, you will have the necessary technical, methodological and social skills to apply them in the workplace.
During your studies, exciting projects are part of the programme to expand and deepen your knowledge. Experienced practitioners from business and technology will impart their knowledge to you in a structured way together with your professors, which will provide you with a very good study programme. We place great value on small groups so that you receive the best possible support and achieve success.

The rapid digital transformation presents companies with enormous challenges. The dual bachelor’s degree program in Business Information Systems prepares students to meet these challenges and design future-proof systems in companies.
The program combines business administration with information technology. Accordingly, students acquire a fundamental basis in business administration and the technical qualifications and methodologies of IT. In particular, these acquired skills are put into practice in the software project. The project comprehensively prepares the students for project-oriented working methods in companies.
